Steve Stulck

Steve Stulck is the founder of Northern Light Consulting, a management consulting firm specializing in the design and implementation of organizational transitions. He works with clients to solve their most important business challenges by mobilizing people at all levels. Clients do not simply receive advice or formulas for action, but have the actual experience of creating breakthrough performance. He is recognized for his ability to facilitate complex conversations resulting in coordinated action.

Steve has over 25 years of experience consulting with leaders - from the CEO through individual contributors. He has designed and implemented change initiatives as an executive at Rohm & Haas, Polaroid, and Coopers & Lybrand, as well as serving as an external consultant to many organizations while a partner at CSC Index. Steve completed his doctorate at Harvard University where he focused on organizational behavior and adult learning.

• Co-led a project to support a bank committed to rapid and profitable growth through the integration of several diverse and previously competing units. Required extensive redesign of business processes ranging from product development to sales. Coached the leadership team members as they incorporated middle managers as owners of the business results, enabling Êthem to support rather than thwart the multiple initiatives needed to implement the objectives.
• Following the acquisition of a specialty insurance firm, worked with the various executive teams to create alignment for changes in business strategy, organizational structure and the leadership behavior needed to produce rapid improvement in results.
• Leadership for the successful transition of large numbers of employees in several complex outsourcing arrangements covering several sites and disciplines. A focal point was the post-acquisition requirements to quickly integrate different cultures and operating models in order to enhance service to customers. A mobilized and engaged front-line staff was required to produce extraordinary results.s
• A large industrial conglomerate chose to establish a shared-services model for their IT organization that spanned six major business units. Successfully addressed significant issues of leadership alignment, cultural integration, and staff resistance, in the design and implementation the new operating model.
• Led multinational executive team of a specialty chemicals firm in developing a new operating model for integrating European, North American and Japanese research, manufacturing and distribution operations. This contributed to rapid international growth and development of regional acquisition strategies..
• Led redesign initiatives to modify research, development and product supply processes resulting in dramatic improvements in cycle time, quality, and costs. Supported projects in variety of industries including consumer electronics, software development, specialty chemicals, consumer packaged goods, financial services and heavy manufacturing
